A Final Breath

Who knew a final breath
Would be a free escape
As water fills my lungs
I see my warm embrace
You’re sacred
I’m not
I’ve been drowning my whole life
You see with every passing glance
My days were filled with strife
I’m wondering if I’m enough
Am I positive in their eyes
The dreams of all I’ve hoped for
Wrapped up in a little bow
It’s all I ever wanted
To get a chance to breath
So now I’m drifting slowly by
As solitude and comfort cry
Encompassed in this grasp
I close my eyes to perfumed lilacs
To wishes finally fulfilled
Now watch the times go past
Each dream of mine was killed
