Shoes

We left but just a silhouette
Disscontempt against the backing of the sun
While the moon set beneath our feet
Covered in grime
The filth of childhood tears drench clothing
Dragging a drowned beginning
With a trail of fallen stars suffocation grows
Lights burning through the past
The hand of a motherless child
Clutching the empty bottle
The malodorous glass
Filled of dreams deluded with milk and honey
Carelessness disguised in an empty diamond sky
Opportunity disappearing within the black hole of chance
A missing moon and freedom sing
Weighed down by the superglued hope of youth
