Senses

If I could lose all but one sense I’d like to keep my eyes
I think that that makes sense
I don’t require scent
Eyes can still make cents
See emotion in ones face, absorbs emotion through the bodies grace
See movement, see the eyes, read what moves beyond
Feel vibrations of music through the shaking ground
Read the musicians face, the squinting of their eyes
You see the fates in the crow lines of smiles in wrinkles of worry
Laughter etched upon ones cheeks
I like to see the changing days to see the setting sun and the dawn of a new day
I like to see the lives of those I do not know
The eyes are windows to the soul
Cinematographers
Photographers
Cartographers
Writers
Lovers
Caretakers
One glance
We have the vision to see we are gifted the breath of life
I’d much rather keep my sight
I think that that makes sense
