A Moment

There was a moment
But that’s all it was
And all it became
Yet it was a moment
Soft like a sunrise
With whispers of dew
And the croon of morning doves
Dipping into the sky
Brushed with the fingertips
Of Georgia O’Keefe
Mingling with the grass
And the muffled breeze
There was a moment
When I was just waking up
And the sun was creeping in
A moment when the sun
Brushed your cheek
As the stroke of a kiss
Glides over canvas
A moment when the first thing
I did in the morning was smile
But you can’t get attached to moments
Good or bad
They all pass
